Electric Trollies and Introduction!!

did you have a look at the T2Green trolleys, cheap as chips if you can find one on fleabay.

Like many others on here I have a GO KART and love it. For £200 its superb.

As for coming down to yours for a gamme...... I finish next Wednesday for 6 weeks, when are you free for a game?

Another GK vote for me and I'm off next Wednesday if you could squeeze HTL (Hywel) and me in!
Certainly Homer. Smiffy could you make up the 4 or is it Thursdays only you can get off? I will investigate the costs and available times etc tomorrow. Any preferences to the 3 courses? The Marquess is generally slightly more £, but IMO is worth it!

if it's just lightweight and compact you want, Sun Mountain Micro Cart - not electric but 4-wheel and light as a feather.

my electric - Powerbug sport - I got off ebay (£87) - it's a clone of Motocaddy S1 (same electrics - different frame) but heavy as sin and bulky.

I'm less than an hour away from you - so yes please.

I'm also hoping to get a freebie playing in the Woburn Master the Masters on Aug 13 (the firm is paying for the society to enter two 4-balls) - just got to check this morning that they are still taking applications

The true test for Electric Trollies comes after 12 months..

My home course is hilly and i have seen so many cheap Electric Trollies fail after about 12-14 months..

My advise is to get a nice powerful motor as they tend to stand the test of time better

Ive got a powerkaddy Highway, im lead to beleive that the factory that used to make this model stopped making it, and another factory brought all the parts with the intent to make us as many of the older spec units at a discount price. I was given mine as a test model and its been nothing but a pain!

Nuts and bolts constantly getting lost & rattling loose
Electrical connectors being poor quality
and i think ive got a wheel bearing gone on one side

and its only done around 10 rounds!

Ok it was free, but im not sure i would buy a powerkaddy again whether the parts be old stock from an obsolite model or not, i want a motokaddy but just saving the pennies...

I had several, it started with a broken switch in the controller, then it went back again for the speed control upgrade and the mod to stop the screen misting up. At the same time it had a new top to the handle because the rubber membrane had split. The next return was for a snapped axle and to have some screws replaced in the handle because after that was fixed some were missing.

All this time the gearbox was making weird noises which on each return the engineer failed to resolve. It was returned again to get this fixed. All this was over a period of about 9 months.

The other thing is that the steps between the speed settings are such that it's never going at the speed you want. The controller mod (which cost 20 quid to have done) is supposed to fix this but it didn't make it any better.

In the end I got a full refund and now have a robokaddy which I'm very happy with. I think generally PK are very good but I reckon they really messed up with the FW2.

I can't make up the four this time round thanks for asking. My time off for the next few weeks is booked elsewhere but I'd really love to play Woburn again (have played both the Dukes & Duchess courses before) given the chance.
Thursday aren't set in stone, with my new manager I can be fairly flexible on days.
I have a week off at the beginning of August (Mon 2nd onwards) but am off to Forest Pines for the week-end from Thursday 5th. I have another week off at the end of August (Mon 23rd onwards) and at the moment don't have any plans whatsoever. So if you can fix up a game around those dates I would love to take you up on your offer.

So. My name is Peter and I've been playing golf for 25 years and am currently a very, very poor 10.

Does that make me a very, very, very poor 12?

Nowt wrong with playing off 10.....

Welcome.

Hi Pete and welcome. Don't have an electric trolley, but have a Clickgear push trolley which is fantastic!!

I am only about 20 - 30 mins away from Woburn so would love to come up for a game at some point. I know Homer and HTL have said about next Wednesday. If that's a go-er and you need someone to make up a four, then I can do the afternoon around 2.

Yeah. I've been looking at a clicgear in the proshop. Cost was around £160 but I saw a Stowamatic on ebay which looks the same for half the price?

Doesn't look as if we are gonna make this wednesday. I can only do morning as my football team have a friendly match at 6pm. Unfortunately HTL and Homer cannot make the morning time either.

Still, the offer still stands and I will be around for future weeks!

pete how are you for Friday afternoons? I can finish work at 12.30 Fridays and the clubs live in the car, and Stevenage is not far. (not next Friday though, my arm will be too sore)
