Hi all,
Wondering about buying an electric trolley, have been wondering for ages now.I was hoping someone could tell me has the benefit of not lugging your clubs around and staying fresh bettered their Handicap. The sort of things that put me off are like for instance, with my stand bag i can always get to my ball say, if i was in the rough or somewhere a trolley may not be able to get to i can always select the club i want rather than walking across to my ball with the club i imagione i would need and once getting their realising i wanted a different club and having to go back to my trolley or even worse just "making do"
I hope this makes sense, im sure those that have bought an electric trolley know what im trying to get at. Thanks in advance for any help as always
Andy :)

I have found huge benefits in terms of additional energy at the end of rounds. Add in the fact that you can carry waterproofs, extra towels, drink and food and the trolley doe sthe work not your back and shoulders and its a winning combo.

I understand what you are saying about not being able to bet right to your ball, but in most cases you can get close enough without having to have a handful of clubs. It just takes a little bit of forethought on the best place to leave your trolley to move it on to the green or next tee in the quickest route.

As to which one, I'm probably blinkered but go-kart for me. It is very compact (fits in a fiesta boot with ease) and is assembled in less than a minute. The battery will easily last 18 and if anything goes wrong they have arguably the best customer service in the golf industry. There are others, including powerkaddy which are very robust and have extra features like built in gps yardages so I guess its like anything and looking at the options and what's best for you.

The only downside I can see is that in the winter many clubs including my own have trolley bans if it gets too wet. THe upside is that your not carrying the bag in 25-30 degree heat and will probably have the waterproof trousers already on!

TRhanks for the speedy response Homer, pretty much exactly what i was hoping for. My club is in west yorkshire and is right on the tops and has brilliant drainage so very rare you have trolley bans. But you never answered my other question.... has your handicap gone down as a result of being all fresh ;)

Handicap has stayed the same but that is more down to poor playing with a card in my hand. Since getting the trolley though I have posted my best ever scores on either 9 (-1 gross going out and +3 coming home but sadly not on the same day).

I have found myself mentally more with it coming over the last few holes and my decision making has improved. Its also a great feeling being able to walk just behind the trolly (go kart will happily wander on its own at a comfy walking speed) and to look around a bit and swing the arms, stretch etc.

If you go down the go-kart route and fancy taking advantage of their recommendation scheme (we both get £5 credits to use on whatever go-kart products we choose) then drop me a PM. If you choose one of the others I'm sure you will find it a great help especially on your course with the hilly bits. The other thing is you can always get to shop for a sexy new bag too
