Hi there everyone,

I have a bit of a problem with my electric caddycar battery and wonder if anyone can help me.
I havent managed to get a game of golf since early November, due to either illness, injury or,like most of us, WEATHER.
As I had used my battery several times last season, I was advised that to maintain it properly it would be better if I discharged it fully and last weekend I set it up in the shed and left it to completely run down...........eventually it ground to a halt, and as I had arranged my first game this Sunday I started to recharge it on Tuesday night. Normally when I charge it up, a yellow light comes on and when it is fully charged this changes to green...........still with me??
Well, all that has happened is that a flashing green light has been on since then and I dont know if is charging properly or whether I am only going to get so far round the course and then have to drag my club back to the locker room.

Hopefully someone out there knows what I'm doing wrong

Cheers

Sorry mate but, as I understand it, one thing you should NOT do is completely run battery flat trolley flat. You will now be unlikely to fully charge it again.

e.g.

Q. How do I get the best performance from my battery?

A. The performance of your battery is greatly affected by how you use and care for it. Follow these basic steps for maximum performance:

- Your battery will arrive fully charged. However, it is worth giving it a top-up charge for a few hours before using it.
- Your battery will reach its optimum capacity once you have used it for 8 to 10 times.
- Only use chargers designed for deep cycle GEL or AGM batteries such as our PowaDrive 12v-4A charger. This is an intelligent, three-phase battery charger. Do not use car battery chargers; these will damage your battery.
- Do not fully discharge your battery.
- Don’t leave your battery in a discharged state. Always recharge your battery after you have used it.
- If you store your battery for long periods of time we recommend you give it a charge once every other month.
- Don’t keep your battery in extreme conditions, either hot or cold.
- Keep your trolley or vehicle well maintained. Any undue load on your battery will reduce its lifespan.

Bad luck. I suppose the only good news might be if it was a bit tired anyway. Nothing like a new battery to get things up n running properly.
