Why does an asterisk appear on an EG record rather than an actual recorded competition score

In my experience it's been because one or more holes were marked as "not started".
Is the asterisk against every hole, or scores on an individual hole?
If the former, in my experience that happens in 4BBB comps when a player’s score qualifies for handicapping. If the latter, it denotes a net double bogey for handicapping where a player has not completed a hole.

On the subject of England Golf - what is the usual time frame for competition scores being submitted to the database when the club are entering them? Jamie played in a comp on Friday (Junior Open at a localish club), handed in his card - a 78 Gross that would have seen his handicap come down by about 0.5. As of this morning the round isn't showing on his record, he's already played two comp rounds yesterday in his club championship, and has his own clubs junior open today.
I know on the EG website that it says competition rounds should be submitted by the club as soon as possible, or words to that effect, and that general play rounds have to be submitted by midnight. This is the 1st time we've encountered any kind of delay in seeing a score updated onto EG - just wondering if it's out of the ordinary or something that is seen quite frequently.

@Mel Smooth if the club are entering them manually then any time between 1-5 days

Contact the host club and question why it hasn't happened. If the response is unsatisfactory, raise it with your county.
