Watching the news this morning on BBC1 and Ed was asked by Charlie state, after he had slated the Tories.
What are your policies on getting petrol prices down?.
He just never answered the question at all, just waffling on about everything, apart from the question asked.
Bloody frustrating, and it makes my blood boil.

None of them have a clue. It's all just posturing and childish arguing. Not a man (or woman) amongst them has the faintest idea on how to tackle the deficit.
The latest one of creating 100,000 "affordable" homes using 4G licencing money to get the economy moving (the housing market really) when no one can actually get any funding from the banks to buy these "affordable" houses is just laughable.
It really smacks of a bunch of toffs sitting in their paid for housing with not a shred of understanding of what the public face on a day to day basis.
Until they do what they should be doing - forcing the publicly funded banks in to lending (and not just setting them a non-enforceable "target") the economy will continue to stall.

Ed and his aptly namesake'd cohort Balls don't have the faintest idea on how to get petrol or any other extortionately inflated commodity down in price because they don't get what the problem being caused to Joe Public by it actually is...

I vote Greig for PM!

I thought the speech was actually pretty good, but it was just that, a speech with zero policy.I did like this bit though-

I want to be quite clear about this, Scotland could leave the United Kingdom.I believe we would be far worse off as a result. Not just in pounds and pence but in the soul of our nation."

Not heard any unionist politician admit that before.

Balls will be Labour leader soon

Did anyone watch him on Sunday's Andrew Marr show.
I thought he was pretty impressive. He 'bossed' the interview, not many do that with Marr.
Changed my mind about him, realise he is not the pratt I took him for.

The next government will be left leaning, the Posh Boys are really messing up big time.
West Coast rail line contract cancelled and re tendered due to 'mistakes' by the transport dept. The whole world knew that contract was wrong. The government just wanted to claw back Bransons profits.

Thought his speech was pretty good - and for a politician just amusing enough. I rather liked how he branded the Government an ‘incompetent, hopeless, out of touch, U-turning, pledge-breaking, make-it-up-as-we-go-along, back-of-the-envelope, miserable shower’.

And what happens a few hours later - we find out about the fiasco surrounding the west coast line - you couldn't make it up. Labour leader slags off the government big time and a few hours later the government provides (further) evidence to back up the description. Ah well. And as it happens I'm not one of those of the more cynical inclination as I don't actually believe that they are all the same - I find that line of thought just a bit lazy.

Not sure he "bossed" the interview but he wasn't allowing AM into harrassing him into answers he didn't want to give... Not sure wether he gave a complete answer to any of the questions either... But the higher a politician gets up the ladder the less likely you'll get a direct response to a direct question...

Don't get me started about politicians, they are all a bunch of spineless <insert as many expletives here as you like>

IF the government wants to cut the UK deficit, it's pretty simple.
  1. Stop giving huge sums on money to those countries in the Euro to bail them out
  2. Stop imigrants coming into the country and claiming benefits when they've put nothing in to start with.
  3. Get rid of the red tape
  4. Stop saying how high when mainland europe says jump
  5. Put someone in charge who has managed to grow a pair.
It would be nice (oh how naive this will read) if a government actually stuck to the promises it made in the run up to a general election and not try to spin their way out of whatever promise(s) by blaming someone or something.

He still looks like he's walked, face first, into a plate glass window.....

All Polititcians have to go to Polititcian College to learn how to waffle for 5 minutes, circumnavigating the question as much as possible while getting their Soundbite across as often as possible.

Anyone who wants to be a Polititcian shouldn't be allowed to be one.

At said Politician College they have their common sense removed and replaced with lots of their own self importance

Mega
I was more of the impression that he was not going to tell Marr so that the Posh Boys could make it thier policy.
At one point he did say 'well, I'd be foolish to tell you that with an election two years away.

Ed Milliband

.....as useful as a chocolate tea pot
....as credible as the tooth fairy
....as modest as Lord Flasheart

add your own.

he waffled on and stammered his way through the interview and never answered a single question the bloke is a second rate chancer and only for the unions (the same ones he has now shafted) his brother would be doing the job,he can say what ever he likes and promise the world now it will be a different story if god forbids he gets into number 10.

Quite a manifesto there Khamelion - maybe you should stand for election on it. You never know.

Interesting a lot of people think granting more credit will get us out of the mess a credit bubble created....

I'd sooner, somehow, the state owned banks or a new state owned entity injected equity into companies rather than just lend.

Problem for the banks in the current approach is they are asked to lend, yet asked to hold more capital for doing do. Most, if not all, banks are actively looking to shrink their balance sheets.
