Ed Milliband

They are now saying that we are into the third generation of some families being on benefit.
It is a culture that needs to be addressed.
10 years ago I was interviewing for casual staff. A couple were obviously there because the dole office had forced them.
No way on gods earth would I have employed them but they were 'actively seeking work'.

Thats all fine and dandy... But what about the many genuine jobseekers that can't find 'proper' employment due to the high number of overseas workers... Imported labour is great when the economy is strong and there's plenty of work for all... But unless anyone knows different thats not the case right now... We should be doing what other countries do...Looking after our own first...

I get sick and tired of the knocking of the British worker... Its the same that knock our youth... If you are not aware there's more good 'uns than bad 'uns... So why the need for the constant highlighting of the few...

As an employer of knocking on 50 engineers, and I've been employing for 12 years now, I've seen and read approx 6000 CV's. And I gave up counting how many interviews I've conducted several years ago.

British workers 'v' those from abroad; there is no difference in the quality of either BUT having employed a number of foreign nationals there is one thing that lets them down and that is loyalty. I got hacked off a while back with employing foreign nationals who took on the training, gave us a few years of good hard work then either went back home or moved on to another job chasing the next big lift in salary.

So who should I employ? Do I go with someone who will probably give lots of years and a good return on the £150k worth of training, or someone who on any given day will give me the same quality of work but who already has one eye on the exit?

As for the youth; I've employed four youngsters. One has developed into a stunningly good engineer, two have been square pegs in square holes and the last one resigned a couple of days before he was sacked. Youngsters are raw material, need nuturing and educating in how to work but they are damned good and they bring something that older candidates rarely have, i.e. bags of energy.

As for Ed Milliband; he's just another career politician rolling off the production line that starts with a flawed plan. He wants himself and his party to succeed at the expense of the genuine needs of the country.

Steve......the good uns find work or set up their own business. It is the not good uns I was talking about.

In the 1990's recession my friend was made redundant by one of the utility companies. On my advice and help he set up as a jobbing gardener. Within a year he was empolying 6 staff.

Show me a politician with common sense and I'll give you a valid reason for voting for them no matter what party....

It's frightening to think that ed balls could run our finances tho......truly terrifying.
