Does anyone own these babies and if so what are they like to wear, thinking about getting ,them handy to wear to the range and playing in the summer. Do they help your back or is it just a myth as Freedie Couples wears them.

Replies appreciated.

Adidas have a similar shoe on the market for next year too (Rose has been wearing them lately). Also Nike, and there is a similar new Canadian shoe mentioned in this months GM.

If this type of shoe is your thing, I'd hold fire on getting a pair at the moment.

Addidas are bring out one that looks a bit like a pair of Sambas, Nike are doing Air Force 1s and Dunks I think........there will be much better choice very soon.

These sorts of shoe will be everywhere next year. Check out Kikkor as well... they are a funky US brand, although not sure how easy to get over here though.

Got a pair of ecco street about a month ago (chili version)

Superb comfort on range or course, lots more grip than I expected (did I mention they are comfortable) really nice quality too & with the soft leather it doesnt feel like a golf shoe does (it doesnt feel like wearing shoes which I guess is the point)

Have worn them for several hours with no sweaty betty effect & no pinching/rubbing. Can't validate the claim that the soles will wear down 5x slower than normal trainer rubber soles but hope its true

Really easy to clean the soles compared to taking shoes to bits or the wire brush approach

Not sure I would wear them in really wet conditions, not because you should'nt more than I don't want to accelerate any damage from excess exposure to water

They're comfy too by the way

Overall a very happy bunny

Not much varience in price across the retailers but got mine for £89 with no postage

Cheers Slab like the black and chilli ones ,they do feel very soft perfect for the hard ground in the summer ,my place had them for £80 i think, wonder if Footjoy are bringing a set out.

As mentioned I expect lots of manufacturers to jump on this varient (with several already listed in the thread)

£80 is cheaper than I saw them anywhere (& I looked a lot) I wanted sepia but chili was second choice (I see AG have just expanded their instock range online) got mine from golfworx (good service)

It's worth mentioning that I've worn them off-course too & just as comfortable (which I'm taking as an indication of what they'll feel like in summer on the course)

Havn't had the bottle yet to fit the optional chili laces but will do at some point
