Was watching two items on eBay,

One with a £7 postage, I offer £30 inc post outside of eBay, seller wants £35+p+p, - played the waiting game and win at £3.09 plus postage.

The other, I offered £45 OK inc post, seller wanted £50, just won at £32 all OK in.

OK myibidder played a big part, when will seller's learn a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush, better book our simulator for inbred night this week because we have some shaft swapping to do.

Based on the fact both sellers knew what some one was willing to pay.I'm amazed they haven't got a couple of mates to bid the items up to just below what you offered.

An item is worth what people will pay for it, a seller should know that.

One thing a seller has to consider is that accepting a sale outside of eBay for an item listed is against the agreement with eBay and against their rules. One way around it is to stick a "buy it now" on it.

I would rather do that than break the ebay rules, im no renegade!

Or just accept my offer and remove the item as no longer available, damaged, incorrect listing etc etc etc

I understand that eBay monitor this thing very strictly. And if it looks like you are taking 'unofficial offers' (assuming you don't have the buy it now option) they will suspend your account very quickly. So perhaps the person selling didn't want to take this risk.

i rarely end items early i am selling and will only do so when we agree a price and i convert the auction to buy it now. will only ever do this if there are no bids on the item with not many watchers, otherwise will let it run..

I'm yet to be stung by eBay, even after bidding on my brother in laws items and ending various auctions early....

Jinxed now

Evil Bay & Paypal are the curse of all that is evil, I hate them both and won't use them

That may, or may not be the case, but I made well over £200 out of them flogging junk that was in the attic between the start and end of January. Even with all the fees I still had £205 in my back burner. Which the wife then promptly spent without me even getting a sight of it! So yeah, maybe they are evil... :D

It does work both ways.
Someone wanted to buy a used dog training collar off me and offered £20.
I said no thanks and good luck with your bidding. I expected to get £25/30.
It sold for £72........£3 more than it cost new!!

Oddsocks many Thanks for the heads up on Ibidder it nearly worked a treat except my bid was a few pence light! Saved flapping at last minute and will be using the rest of free snipes.

i have various family and friends who bid on my items, my mum and my girlfriend have all won golf equipment at some stage in the past two years, trolleys, clubs, balls, etc.

i must admit i have only ever sold one thing outside of ebay which was a set of irons... everything else has been fine.
