Hi All,

Just read the ebay thread about snipers and there seem to be some veteran ebayers on here.

Have just sold some clubs which finished a day or so ago. So far no payment or contact from the buyer.

How long do people tend to leave it before making contact.

Invoice was sent straight after purchase.

Cheers

Doug

Most people get in contact or pay as soon as the invoice is sent or if it's BIN then when they commit to buy. I have sold on ebay a bit and only had one person take their time paying but they did before the week was up so I wouldn't worry too much yet.

I am a bit of an Ebay veteran (been using for well over 10 years). If you have sent the invoice then give them a few days in which to respond as you do nto know why they have not responded yet. If after say 3/4 days you do not hear anything then send an Email to remind them. If after 7 days no response then contact Ebay about it.

Just a send them an email politely asking when payment will be sent as the parcel is ready to be sent.

I had a case recently when someone didn't pay, hey said hey would on Monday, them i asked for a deposit on Tuesday which hey paid so we agreed full payment on Friday. Nothing on Friday until I email them and hey said, oh, my sons gan ought him his yesterday. I wasn't pleased, kept the deposit and resold it. It sold for the same price :)

Was I wrong to keep the deposit as I made it clear this was to secure the item until a future date for full payment.

Been buying and selling on Ebay for over 20 years.

Only had 1 or 2 slow payers, though waiting on an unresponsive buyer (invoice sent twice so far) at the moment.

As already posted, send invoice again (gets logged so Ebay can see your activity) leave for a few more days, then notify Ebay. It may just be a tactic just before pay-day, specially at this time of year!

impressive  in from before it started trading :D

re the OP send the buyer a reminder, in couple of days, you can't take any official action for 4 days anyway and then it takes ages to get any kind of resolution.

If he's not paid within a week/10 days I would relist, make sure you open a dispute then you will get your fees back

i seem to be getting slow payers a lot recently! if people have a delay, how tricky is it to pop a message saying i will pay you on tuesday or whatever... its just common courtesy!

I had a slow payer non responsive buyer for my 910 driver, 3 days of no contact at all despite numerous emails to them, I was getting tetchy as I needed the funds to pay for another item on eBay so in the end I sent an ultimatum saying pay by x or I will offer it as a second chance offer. No response so i offered an subsequently sold it to the second in line.

Next thing I know is I get an email from the original bidder with a sob story about her man being away he he still wants the club. Tough.

Resulted in bad feed back and a warning over future conduct from eBay plus a two quid loss on the original sale value. Still well worth it as it got my funds as I wanted plus more importantly has hopefully taught a lesson to the clown that was ignoring my emails rather than just saying they would pay by x date.

Well worth it though as

eBay automatically send reminders out now if items aren't paid for by PayPal within 3 days, handy if you have a slow payer.Saves you the hassle of reminder but clogs inbox if your doing cash on collection.

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice, it would appear that a repeat invoice was sufficient to prompt payment.

Like most on here have said in general I have never had a problem with getting payment from buyers, just seemed a bit odd this time as they were also a power seller. But monies received and parcel ready to post tomorrow.

cheers all

Personally I always pay, with PayPal when I check out.

Simply because I know how I would feel in the sellers shoes having the hassle of chasing payments and re-listing items.

Pretty new to eBay here, only sold 3 items and 4th will sell by the weekend.

I am a little surprised that slow pay is defined as less than 3 days. I would only start to wonder about payment after 3 days.

So far everyone has paid up before I have gotten round to finding out who won! Long may that continue!

Its feedback I am finding people take longer over, of course this has to cover postage and delivery time as well as the user testing.

I have had two leave feedback pretty quick and one just has not, even after a few weeks!
