Ebay negative feedback

I have never had to leave negative feedback before, I hate having to spoil some sellers reputation but I recently bought an advertised TM R11 shaft, I paid over the odds for it on a "Make an offer" price. I wanted it so didn't mind paying a bit more so I could clinch the deal. When it arrived imagine my thoughts when I unpacked an R9 shaft, no problem it fitted the R11 but it wasn't the item advertised. It will work, but I would not have paid as much if I had have known it wasn't as advertised. Should I leave nuetral feedback as surely a pro should be able to read a shaft that says R9 all down it?
 
You should always contact the seller to attempt resolution before leaving feedback. It may be that a genuine mistake has been made, the seller has an obligation to replace or refund if an item sold is not as advertised.
If you don't get any resolution, that's the time to leave negative feedback and let other know to beware.
 
Got to agree,contact first.
It could be a genuine mistake,however if its not buyers beware,its your duty.
Even if your happy because it fits,its not the item advertised
 
Yeah OK it's my fault for buying something falsely advertised so I'll just say "Brilliant what a buy if you are thinking of buying one for your R11 then go ahead I'm delighted with mine" I wouldn't mind so much if he wasn't advertising others in the same way.
 
I'd contact him first asking for an explanation as to why he old you it and you are willing to keep it but he has to offer you something maybe a few balls or a glove of choice or you will be returning the item and want a full refund

What? where did anyone say that. What was said was to contact him and see what the score is first. That's all, find out if it was a mistake and he will rectify it as he is duty bound to do if not THEN leave negative feedback.
No one said it's your fault, nor that you leave positive feedback that is unwarranted.
 
As a fairly regular seller on e-bay I'd be rightly tee'd off if I wasn't first given an opportunity to resolve an issue ahead of negative feedback being left... If someone has 100% feedback its usually for a good reason... They're honest and fair sellers...

As a regular seller would you try and sell 25 items listed at different times and all listed incorrectly? He knows what he is doing he's sold 4000 items. If he had listed as 'TM R9 shaft fits R11 also' I wouldn't have had an issue.

Yes, I'd contact the seller and give them an opportunity to react. He may even offer you money back if your happy to keep it as it'll save him the collection and original delivery charge if refunded then he'll have to list it again

starting to see more to this than the initial post suggested, especially with your 'snap' in post no4.

from this I presume that the item you got is the one shown in an image, and that the wording of the advert mislead you as to what was being sold?

I can't find such an item for sale/sold recently from a seller with 4000 sales, so without an item number can't comment on that element - however, if he is a business seller you can simply return the item unused for a refund if you do it within the time allowed, it's that simple.

I completely agree that my starting point would be to contact the seller as suggested at the start.
 
Slightly suspect in that the pictures have been taken so as not to show the R9 wording and the actual description says graphite shaft with R11 adaptor. Personally I think that the seller knows exactly what he is doing and if it did not say R11 shaft in the headline desription then there would be no issue. In theory it is an R11 shaft in that it is a shaft that fits and R11 it is just not one made specifically for that club. A case of deliberately suspect description I thnk but if he is a fair minded dealer then I would hope that he would be happy to offer some recompense or offer a refund.
 
Ahh, ESCGolf. Heard a couple of 'interesting' stories about these guys, but never had a problem with them.

Normal protocol would be that you complain to them and they agree to accept return.

I suspect they'll say that as there is no difference between R9 and R11 shafts and adapters, then there is no 'description breach'. You should reply wit 'Well send me a replacement one with R11 written on it, as it's going in an R11 head'!

If you get no satisfaction, raise a claim - via Paypal - which is far more effective than Negative Feedback. Negative Feedback should only be used after all other avenues have been exhausted - or to note difficulty of the deal.

He has sold over 7 thousand items so my mistake.

thanks - ESC were the only ones that I could think of selling that many shafts!

they are a business seller, and they will take any return that you feel is wrong. on the plus side they advertise the shafts very specifically in terms of what they are, and what they fit. they do the same shafts with, and without, R9 or R11 adapters, and with the R9 adapter they advertise them on the basis of the adapter if they list a model http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Taylor-Ma...oods_Golf_Club_Components&hash=item3a73e77852

I have bought clubs and bits from them without issue - but that's irrelevant to your situation.

Contact them if you want to make a return - they don't go out of their way to get returns (through poor descriptions) 'cos they cost them to handle.

btw it's over 70,000 sales, not 7,000
 
I'd contact the seller expressing your concerns, ask for a % refund, if they refuse state that you'll return the item as it was falsely advertised and expect a full refund for the item, postage & return postage costs.

Again, if not, raise a dispute with eBay and they'll sort it out for you.

Like others have said, contact the seller before jumping to conclusions at least try to solve it through the seller before contacting ebay. It may be a mistake or it may be deliberate but i would try to solve it with the seller first before going off on one.
