ok so I have spoken to ESN.
£50 per player. 18 holes. 1 course lunch. very limited in June, but we can have the pick of dates in July. Thursdays are best. we can have 16 players before it goes to society rates.
society rates are minimum 17 players. £65 per player. bacon rolls/coffee. 18 holes. 2 course lunch.
Suggest we go for the East.
what do we think? go for society day or just a forum gathering?

Ok, just reporting back from East Sussex! Both courses in great condition, The East course more manicured especially the greens! Just had a fantastic weekend and loved both courses for different reasons! Playing off 18,I was more than surprised to go out in 42 shots on the East Course although back to back birdies helped. Imploded on the back 9 starting with a 9 on the 10th finding the watery grave, never recovered and ended up with 96! Really good challenge though. The West just felt more relaxed and slightly easier on the eye, although the greens weren't as beautifully kept! Ended up with 89 and 37 points off 18 so the enjoyment factor was there. I played well for me, especially in the driving dept, just got a lot more in play. Warm welcome, and relaxed ambience throughout the weekend! Def recommend to anyone looking to play for first time.

Great stuff...heading there this weekend with a group and can't wait. Just hoping the wind dies down a touch!
