Hi All,
I had to drag myself out to golf this weekend, I have a knee injury that seems to be getting worse not better, it was cold, I had to leave my beautiful baby at home and I was billy no mates. I however knew I needed to get out for my head.
I have been working on my action over pure power for a little while and so stepped up to an empty 1st tee at AVGC early Saturday afternoon and hit a big right to left drive down the left side of the par 5. As I wandered up to it I saw someone waving to me from the 9th so wandered over to shake a rather frustrated Fundy`s hand (slow play in the medal). When I returned to my ball I guess I had about 230 to go with the pin almost at the back of the green on the top tear. I did not fancy smashing a 3 wood at it, i thought I would hit a hybrid then maybe chip on. My hybrid was another big smoth right to left shot that landed just short and bounced and rolled over the corner of the green and settled on the left side in a shallow gully 5 foot from the dance floor and maybe 20/22 foot from the pin. Still very chilled I threttend the ball with my 8 iron, made a few practice swipes and hit the ball. It was in as soon as it left the club face, I gave it the old point and a little "get it" and in it went.
Easy old game innit...
It was my 1st eagle in 8 or 9 years of playing, it was very pleasing and I will enjoy it over and over. Another small sign that I am moving my game forward slowly but surly.
