Not tried them but have never seen a good report of a club from Sportsworld. For an extra £10.00 you can find some Ram or MD wedges that should be of a far better quality

Hi, i once bought one of these dunlop wedges when i first started, it was sh*te!.

If you are a golfer who wants to improve and get good, then buy something with a bit more quality.

However if you're just going to play a few times a month then these wedges are fine, as long as you don't get anything over 60 degrees.

I've seen these and wouldn't be tempted at all. I'm sure they work (to a degree) etc. but there are minimum standards!! :(

I've checked out all this stuff and t.b.h. I'd be surprised if any of it was that playable. 460 drivers for £15-20?? one of my local stores has about 10 versions...all cr**.

What really makes me mad is recently they have added some square drivers to their stock. They have £199 stickers on them and are "sale" priced (as most of the stuff) at about £39. There is no way these could ever be £199, not with £1.50 chinese graphite shafts. :D

Don't get me wrong, I like the store and the prices, but beware some shocking stuff...especially the golf.

If you want to get some genuine golf stuff at cheap prices, take a trip to the Flagship Sports World Lillywhites store in London (Piccadilly). Genuine kit, genuine 1/2 price deals, I just wish I lived in London.

As we all must know, the engine of a good club is the shaft....better to get anything with a decent steel or graphite.

Well said dave.

These shops used to sell donnay cr@p that was "reduced" from £249 down to £79 for a full set of graphites.

This "sale price" notion is a common retail scam. I used to be in retail management and basically, to satisfy trading laws we had a shop that advertised stock at full price, it never sold jack and at £40 for an eisenegger t-shirt it wasn't going to. Every other store in the country then sold "everything 70% off" and made a killing from the naive punters who thought they were getting a genuine designer bargain. They still do it today.

Its exactly the same with the golf gear at sportsworld. A lot of beginners at the range I use wield this gear and the minute they get any consistency they see that the gear they are using is pony and get rid.

If you don't want to pay big bucks grab an ebay bargain. I just sold a Cobra C-Series 56deg wedge for a tenner on ebay. That was a total bargain for somebody!

Mind you with that many clones about I wouldnt buy off Ebay. Sports World is great for cheap golfing clothes and shoes, but the clubs I wouldnt touch. Why pay £200 for a Calvin green jacket when a £15 one is going to keep you just as dry and possible look less of a t**t on the course.

oh no the dreaded dunlop wedge lol. i work in a pro shop so i know a good club to a bad club now im not saying dunlop or donnay are totaly rubbish clubs but for £9 hmmmmm.
it makes me laugh people come in to the pro shop i work in and start telling me how great it is that you can go down to sport world and buy a dunlop driver for £6???? recently i found a dulop driver on the range and you would be shocked to see the structure of these clubs! the crown of the club had been totaly removed and this was done buy someone hitting golf balls with it! some bloke came into the shop and was looking at mid range fairway woods, but then.. he suddenly starting telling me how he bought a donnay 3 wood for £13!!! and it was reduced from £79!! and he really did believe it was £79 lol. the point is if all you want to do is wack a few balls on the range then these clubs are excellent. if your more intrested in venturing on a golf course do not waste you money on these clubs!!
