Dubai plane crash

Would like to think that when you are told to watch the trolley dollys and the videos that show you what to do and not what to do in an emergency. Plus the fact that afore mentioned trolley dollys are screaming in your face to leave your hand luggage, you would know.

Well I am afraid to say, you wouldn't. You can't. As I have said, when people are placed in highly stressful emergency situations, we all behave differently and often different to what we would expect.

Some people react quickly, assess the situation and move quickly and do all the right things (they probably all post on here). Others think they have much more time and stop to do things they probably shouldn't, or dawdle wondering what all the fuss is about.

My father worked for the London Fire Brigade for over 40 years and he said it amazed him how people reacted in a fire. He had been to a fire in a casino where people were still sat at the slot machines, and perished due to smoke and fire because they thought they had time to finish their game. They were literally sat on their stools.

Some people freeze, some people outright panic and others do something somewhere all the places in between.

All I am trying to say, is that with the greatest will in the world you would like to think if in that situation you would behave responsibly, and get you and your family out leaving possessions behind. The reality isn't always that.

Still, if it makes people feel better calling out others as stupid then fair dos. Whatever floats your boat.

People sitting in a casino that has caught fire and who subsequently die due to smoke inhalation because they think they can finish their game on the slot machines are stupid, it's that simple.

Darwin called it Natural Selection.

That's great, seems like 100% of folk posting here would just go to the exits in an orderly way and leave their belongings in a textbook evacuation.

The Dubai incident was with real people, not fundamentally stupid people, average people, the sort of people who come from all walks of life and maybe even post on internet forums. Seems to me that the evidence suggests that the statement above isn't really tenable. WE, as a group, on a plane would most probably behave in a very similar fashion, as would any random collection of people.

It isn't, but you carry on.
