Should mention the course, its a parkland and always exposed to the wind, some long holes and some really nice holes particularly round the turn where the bigslice will loose you balls.
A long walk, the always have good deals with the buggies.

just flinging names of courses for opinions for my away clubs outings, what about Kings Acre? we like to have an old day shot 36 holes and grub

Kings Acre is good for an outing but its not the greatest of golf course IMO.

You will get good value on a 36 hole outing at Drumoig, I would recommend taking buggies though it can be a bit of a trek. Another one that I think is excellent value for a 36 hole outing is Whitekirk. Kingsacre is also a good choice with excellent set up with driving range inc but a bit more expensive, to be fair you would have a great day at any of those 3.

Just remembered another one to check out, Kinross, I got an email from them today, they are giving fantastic prizes to outings with more than 12 players. I'm sure they give you a free overnight with breakfast and golf for 2 to put up as a prize. Think it needs to be booked in next month or so though, worth checking out.
