Driving Distance

Why not measure a distance on a device, then pace it out using normal strides.

I did this years ago (for some reason I can't quite remember) and I know that 9 of my normal steps is 8 yards.

You have to do a little bit of maths after you've paced anything out but at least you don't have to march to your ball like John Cleese. :p

You may have done this as part of hillwalking/mountaineering training where in order to navigate accurately in mist or blizzard or darkness (ie when you cant see) you should know your stride rate to distance so that you dont walk off the edge of a corrie or crag. I remember from way back for me 108 average paces is 100 metres.

So 1 of your paces is 1 yard.

You have the ideal inside leg measurement to measure golf distances :D
