Due to my work hours I've no time to get down a range and practice. Apart from putting along the carpet are there any exercises or drills I can do to help improve my general game?

You can work on your takeaway with a club and a little room plus a mirror. I do this frequently to ensure I start on the correct path.

Sets you up well to work on the full swing when you have a chance.

Use youtube and the rest of the internets to show you where you should be. A good tool is an impact ball to help with this, works well! A V-Easy for the full swing IMO (but not as good :) )

EDIT: Really good for 1/2 shots and 3/4 shots :D MY favourite, yum yum

Perhaps a daft question as I have never used or seen the impact ball before, but how do you know it is the correct position? Surely that is entirely dependent on the shoulder / chest width of the player? Thanks for the tip though, I will check it out.
