They don't need to. Only one player in the group needs to have the app.Which one? And all your fellow competitors have the same ?

So you're advocating one player in every 3 just puts his own score in unchecked?

Yes, with the marker doing that and the player submitting scores online, it's the only logical combination.
Anyway, we all know this is not really the reality of what's happening now. Isn't it about time we just went back to normal scorecards?
That's how it works. One player can enter scores for the whole group. So you're advocating one player in every 3 just puts his own score in unchecked?
What would you do if, for whatever reason , the score was ‘in’, but there was no photo ?We upload the photo that we keep and sign for our playing partner.
I just don't understand the comments that clubs tried it once then gave up.
Very good, it would have been helpful if mention could have been made earlier that you have an App that supports both player and marker.......
We use Intelligent Golf, they have only just released their version that supports this. It requires a certain level of software, not everyone has a phone with this, so even if the club provided the App it wouldn‘t work for everyone.
So, if you could just see the wider picture......
Sorry, no idea, GM's headache that one ?
As an aside - it was only relatively recently that I discovered the marker has no responsibility for the players score
If the player says he scored a 5 then that is the score that goes on the card. The marker may query it as I understand it but the responsibility is with the player alone.
Therefore marking ones own scores via an app should not be an issue
I agree, but not everyone has this. You need a phone with IoS 11 or greater. If the marker now has the ability to enter the players (agreed) score this will no longer be an issue.
True but the committee can decide under present conditions who submits the score.

Makes you wonder why we‘ve bothered all these years then, and why they sit down in a hut at Pro events and go through their scores and cards....As an aside - it was only relatively recently that I discovered the marker has no responsibility for the players score

Errrr, the IoS 11 bit is for the player and marker joint scoring App. Bit difficult to go home and do this, or carry a laptop around the course with you....Or a laptop, PC or other form of computer that connects to the tinterweb........

1) Which ISV do you use for your handicapping system?Well, it looks as though no one can give me an answer to my question backed up by clear references.
Rulefan and Smarmybee have given an acceptable answer but based on an App with facilities that we don’t have.
Traminator, I think, is on board with the issue, but has ‘no idea’ when it comes to making the decision.
