DQ or not

Just got this from the club manager

Re 4BBB
Club Systems has informed me that remote sign on and scoring for this type of competition has not been perfected! So, we will have to use the PSI screens for sign in and score entry. Further details as to how we will accomplish this safely will be forthcoming. For now, please book your tee times on BRS and don't try to sign into the competition using HDiDo.
Had no problem with score entry for individual comps, agree that there is no facility for score entry in team comps.

For BB I just set the comp up for an individual comp in 4's do a random draw and use that for pairing.

As per the Rules of Golf.......
Para ? Reference ?
Really, thanks. The couple of curt replies don’t really do either of you any credit.
It may not occur to you but the reason I’m asking on here is that I‘ve exhausted other avenues including enquiring of other players, committee members, etc all of whom are as confused as me which suggests the wording from the R&A and CONGU isn’t as clear as they might think it is.
The people I’ve spoken to agree that the App is not an electronic scorecard, it is akin to a a mobile PSI.

So some golfers can't even send a simple photo of their card, yet some places are basing competition results and prizes based on said golfers inputting their own, unverified scores online?

I'm all for progress and using online tools, but there has to be a physical record, written by a witness, surely, for scores to be legitimate?

I think the person playing with them is the witness.......

It’s Rule 3-3b and then clarified by the modifications to the Rules under COVID-19 but the R&A. Verbal confirmation is fine under the modifications. Scorecards do not need to be on paper.

Get with the program Grandad!

How is he verified as a witness though if there is nothing submitted by him?

Same as he does when he witnesses a paper card. There is no requirement to ‘submit’ anything other than the verification of the scores, which up until 6 weeks ago was a signature, but now signing for scores/confirmation can be done in different ways......

Player A submits a scorecard into a box with his name, handicap, his signature and the markers signature on it.

His score wins the competition.

What else do you need to confirm that’s he’s (or she’s) won the competition with the stated score?

So, in a two ball, Player A puts his score in the App, Player B puts his in his App. At the end of round, A says I got 34 points, B says OK, I got 35 points, A replies “sure”.
Thats all above board and OK “with the program” is it ?
