Played with my mate yesterday who's a member at Fortrose. Fantastic weather, shirt sleeves and no wind at all. The Moray Firth was like glass so pretty easy for there. Shot 4 over gross and got hammered by a 16 handicaper. I'll have to stop giving him full diff, the bugger :D

I guess he played well too thought right?

But ye, I hate giving my mate 4 shots. Im my mind I dont count it :D

I once gave a 26 h'capper 17 shots, shot 6 over gross and lost by a hole. The only hole I didn't give him a shot on I birdied and he rolled a 25 footer in on top of me for a half - frustrating is not the word for it.

mind you not as bad as when is stepson played as well. Had to give him 13 shots, i shot level par gross and still lost  :D :D

Just need to get the pair of them on a long course when its blowing a gail. :D

Swings and rounabouts. I played with a 26 handicapper last week and he knocked it round in 38 points and didn't score on three bloody holes and in his words "played rubbish". I busted a gut for my 27 and was reasonably happy with how I hit it in the windy conditions. Mind you I've played guys off 3 and 4 and had a good day and won thanks to the shots received so it cuts both ways

The handicap system is flawed in my opinion, it clearly favours the high handicapper. Period.
