How much bad luck did Trevor Immelman have toward the end of his round on the final day?

We saw him land on the beach. The worst luck had to be the divot on the fairway. Of all the beautiful fairway available his ball went and rolled into some wazzocks divot!

I imagine he felt the Gods were against him, but he cracked on and the rest is history.
A slow player, but IMO a worthy winner, he led from the start and held his nerve right up to the finish. ;)

Agreed the pace of play in the final round was torturous and would drive an insomniac to sleep. The powers to be need to get a grip and sort out the slow play.

what an immaculate display of golf it has to be said and even more so after only 4 months ago he had a tumor removed ( not sure how bad it was but still ) only been following golf 6 years and i cant think of anybody who has played as consistently well as that over 4 days ..

yeah he is quite slow but i think that time could be pulled back if he walked a bit quicker as his pre shot routine is very slow ,

im just wondering if he is normally that slow , its the first time he has played well since the tumor , he might just have slowed it down a bit because of the masters...

i think it prob take me about a week to get round that dodgy track lol

I congratulate Trevor Immelman for winning but I was frustrated by the slow pace of play. I also agree that within the next few weeks we will see some dumpling on our course walk round a putt for 2-3 minutes looking to read the grain of the grass when really, he will chuff it anyway.

I heard one commentator say that Harrington waited 12 minutes to play a shot. Thats how long it should take to play a HOLE not a shot.

Agree with the comments regarding slow play but as we now live in New Zealand we sky+ the final round and watched on Monday evening having avoided all news channels all day long and were able to fast forward through all the boring re hashes of the scores etc etc .

We had the american coverage down here, not a patch on the BBC, but never the less enjoyable.

Incidentally for the European tour golf we get " The European Tour coverage" 55 mins of golf to 2 mins of adverts , love it :D

Also think trev did a fantastic job but i was annoyed/frustrated with the speed (lack of it) of his play.

Hope it doesnt rub off on everyone as only last week, a 4 ball on my local course where walking the lentgh of there 4 ft putts, getting down behind them and holding there putters out infront. The greens dont have a decent break anywhere, and they kept missing by a mile.

Can tell its been masters week as our range last night was so busy. Normally dead through the week! Lads and dads sharing bags etc.

wasnt that due to his playing partner getting into trouble and having to walk back up the fairway to drop??

i thought the next group should have played through though!

From what I have read, Gary Player talked him into playing slowly, so as to better his chances of winning. As a strategy this appears to have worked, but it makes for dull tv. Maybe he just bored the opposition into making mistakes.

This was die to Romero having a problem on the 11th leaving Harrington greenside waiting to play his third shot.
