Rubbish website photos.
I am referring to clubhouse/bar/restaurant photos.
Lots (not all) clubs show their food, sooooo?
I know what food looks like.
Or they show their bar/restaurant areas.......all empty.

No people enjoying their drinks/meals.
Where are the pictures of the atmosphere?
Maybe a quiz night/dance night/meat draw etc with lots of people enjoying themselves?
And it's not just golf clubs.

Here's my local Indian restaurant

Come on people, make an effort
Is your club guilty?

Ours is showing what I think is the bar after captain's day, shotgun start. The room is so full of people that you can't really see anything of it. Not a good picture.

I find the majority of clubs websites to be poor and unattractive. A shame as they should have good material to work with.

The main photos on the homepage seem to be of various holes on the course on a sunny day - standard stuff. There aren't many pictures of the inside, apart from a couple where it's been mocked up as a wedding reception venue with bows on the chairs and all that, advertising the venue hire.

Their websites are just more evidence of how many golf clubs are so behind the times. Many are truly terrible. Even if they've paid someone for a template, the content is usually a year out of date (at best).

I aspire to be a member of a club that is so old-fashioned / not caring about the modern world, that is doesn’t even have a website 😂

Places like Rye and Swinley have really gone to the dogs now, having websites and scorecards and other fripperies of modern life

No website is definitely preferable to one that is badly designed and out of date. I reckon the best compromise is a single splash page just saying "Snooty Toffo Golf Club" (on a black background) and a phone number - that's it.

Ours has two pictures.

One of the Gallery Bar

I don't think this website has changed in about 10 years.
But rather than "Snooty Toffo Golf Club" it seems to be saying, "Look, you can play golf here, don't expect much more."

These were the only photos I could find that were not ones of the course.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ours has some pictures of food but this is the only one I can find of the clubhouse interior, I think they've covered it pretty well.

That’s a sad selection. ☹️ The course would have to be very good to keep me drinking there…

One of the best things about my club is they always have a couple of decent local beers on alongside the horrible mass-market lagers, and the selection changes regularly.
