Our last qualify comp is at the beginning of October and it will not recommence until the end of March. The committee will review handicaps at the end of the year and those that have played well from Oct to Dec in the weekly swindle may be cut.

Guys How do all ye'r members manage to get 18 holes in with the short days ? we play 13 hole comps (time restraint not course fault) as a result we dont have qualifiers from clock change at end of oct ..

If we have too many entries for a comp we have a 2 tee start.

We run a monthly stableford every month which is suppose to be a qualigier but will change to a NQ if we get a heavy frost and go onto temps. They do try and keep the course as open as possible. Add in the Christmas comps, turkey trots and new year events and there is quite a busy schedule of potential cuts coming up (weather permitting)

It would appear not.
Couldn't make the last Midweek Medal yesterday but the result was up in the Locker(joke) Room and it was designated a non-qualifier.
Can't see why. Same course as normal. No Winter tees or Temp greens, course in decent nick.... Baffling.
1 more comp at the weekend - I guess that'll be a non-qualifier too.
I've not played on Temp greens yet at this course and the only concession to Winter has been tee mats on the par 3's - but they're placed in positions where the normal tees are anyway.

Full tees on the whites ....no temporary greens....plenty of qualifiers...
Every Wednesday ... Weekly medal
1st Monday of the month .....mixed medal
Monthly stableford
Monthly medal
2 or 3 Winter League qualifiers ( there's a Saturday League and a Sunday one .....you can play either but not both)

I make that around 9-10 qualifiers a month.....we are very lucky and have a great competition committee ...

there's no fixed end to them, they just keep qualifiers going all the time we can play the full course. At some point we will be on winter tees, may have winter greens (probably the 16th this year as they're putting in a new tee to change the line and a new bunker to catch us out), one hole goes to an alternate fairway - and we will be flooded out for at least 3 weeks

For no good reason we do not have counters through the winter.

Sadly there was a new man due to be taking over as Match Secretary who would probably have rectified this but he has been fu#ked around by the club for whatever reason and is not doing it now so no counters will continue.

How does your handicap committee find out what goes on in swindles?
Rumour?
Selective questioning?
Targetting individuals?

No qualifiers for us from October through until April. Bit of a shame really that it is as fixed as it is. With the weather, we could have comfortably played off the whites for another few weeks.
