Probably a bit of both. The over sized hats with flat peaks are all the rage with the kids these days.

Whilest I wouldn't buy a massive hat like his, I think it's great that he's appealing more to the 'yoof'. Golf needs kids to take up the game to continue on and the likes of Rickie, Rory and Manny are taking up the mantle.

It does, but the main reason he wears it is because it's the colour of the University he attended (Oklahoma) - Americans are VERY passionate about the universities they were schooled at.

That's obviously part of it, I totally agree. He does give off that impression. Nice kid but full of confidence but I genuinely think he's "showing his colours".

silly hats aside, the new puma clothing range came into the pro shop at my place and leaving aside the neon orange bits, it is very nice and sensibly priced, some lovely polo shirts and tartan trousers

Nothing wrong with JD's - (well maybe some of it, not too sure about the spots).
