does anyone use a 2 iron?

No I don't use one. I don't have the clubhead speed to get the most out of one.

Anyway, 2 irons are only for people who don't have the skill to hit hybrids. :ears:

1 iron here, cally X12. It goes tremendously.
As Gary said though, you cant back off 1&2 irons, you need to commit to pretty much full throttle and have plenty of speed.

had the cobra utility iron for a while, great at the range, hard work on the course, as others have sadi you can't back off it, and you have to be striking it well to get the most out of it

Has anyone got any suggestions for where I could pick up a second hand tmb 2 iron?
I can only find new ones for £150 at the moment.

Thanks

You got anything to trade in at AG to get the price down?

I haven't hit them but the earlier version, 712u, should be cheaper. I don't know how they compare though as a disclaimer

For many years I carried a Ping Zing 2 iron and it was one of my favourite clubs. Perfect off the tee and a great option into the wind. However, I now have a hybrid with 17 degrees of loft instead. I think the Ping i25 hybrids are fantastic golf clubs. They really suit me anyway and are long, forgiving and easy to shape. Low, high, draw or fade are all possible. Very consistent clubs and unlike many hybrids, their trajectory is not a ballooning high one.

Highly recommended. Certainly the best hybrids I have ever tried and I now carry 3 of them, replacing 2-4 irons.

Not anymore. My old Hogan is rusting in peace in the loft and my 3 Crossover covers the same ground perfectly now. Doesn't look as cool though :( If I had the ability I'd still have one, they are a fabulous tool for almost any course and every golfer should have something like this to fall back upon.

I use a Mizuno FliHi 18* 2 iron when I'm playing links courses. Very easy to hit both off a peg and a decent lie on the fairway.

This, was given an old one by a mates uncle with the regular graphite shaft and can still hit it really high and bring the flight down when needed. Fantastic club.

As an added bonus try chipping with one, next to impossible to duff and a million times easier to predict the speed it comes off at than a hybrid
