Yes I have a county card, plenty of courses Ive visited its the best way to get a reduced green fee (Coventry Golf Club and Frilford Heath 2 recent examples)
Other than that I tend to rely on member invites or play one of the 30 courses we have reciprocal deals with

We played midweek yes, dont know about weekends but a pretty traditional members club expect its a lot harder if not impossible to get on at weekends

Living around the corner id like to give it a go but the website says guests only during the week which is a shame.

Definitely worth playing. Whilst the club felt a little "old" we got a great response from the pro and he was exceptionally helpful, so maybe worth phoning and see whether they can get you on at all

If you are a member of a club in Angus as I am you don't need to buy a county card - we automatically get half price golf at most other county courses - http://www.carnoustiecountry.com/Courses/SpecialOffers/Member-Discount-Golf.aspx - including Carnoustie Championship

Have one every year and use it often - especially on holiday. Arranged to play at Lanhydrock today and then noticed their rules are only for the local area County Card (Cornwall, Devon etc) which is the first time I've come across that. Told them we'd play elsewhere and they quickly agreed to charge us the County Card rate which is £11 cheaper each.
Excellent card to carry around, 99% I'm sure is only Mon-Fri but there may be exceptions!
Players use it a lot for my course in the winter when their courses are closed or on temps as ours never are, only £15 with the card on a heathland course, great value :thup:

Not sure the BBO do one (stand to be corrected). If so no idea how I get one and what benefits I'd get. Never been publicised
