Playing in the comp today and we have a nearest the pin on our 10th.
My two pp's both put it to about 9-10 foot, which was inside the previous marker. I'd hit a tree on the approach, chipped it from about 25 foot up to 12 inches, then I walked all round the green to leave my bag towards the next tee.
We weren't sure who was the nearest out of them 2, so I grabbed the flag to help in measuring both. Did that, decided who was nearest, then I said "did anyone mark my ball", cue confused look from both.
I think I'd only put the flag down for the first fella, and then picked my ball up without marking it, while doing the other one - what a divvy!!!
