I'm not a big cinema patron admittedly but sat down for the Shawshank Redemption on the TV several years after realease expecting one of the best films of all time. Not a bad film admittedly but really fail to see why it's at the top of all the must see lists. I was really disappointed. Is it just me? I feel a bit guilty as it's apparently such a classic! Also, the Godfather, I watched all 3 back to back a couple of years ago, never having seen them.....that's a good few hours I'll never get back.

So......following on from the earlier thread, which "brilliant" fillms do you think were rubbish?

I seen The Shining at the cinema for the first time 2 Halloweens ago and that was massively disappointing. Im guessing it was a lot to do with expectations and the age of the film but didn't like it at all.

Don't like any of the Star Wars, or Shawshank, The Redux version of Apocalypse Now is so long that it nearly wrecks it.

The Exorcist - About as scary as a childrens halloween party, and absurdly funny in places.
Brokeback Mountain - Sorry, but it wasn't any good.
The Sixth Sense - Guessed the twist after about 30 minutes.

Tommy and Pearl Harbour ....................... both utter rubbish in my view. Oh, and any Jaws after the first one.
