I'd go A, and hope to get a few games at B with friends if A ever has to close.
Club A is my Coventry Golf Club, a previous Open Championship qualifying course for 4 years and still hosts National & Regional Qualifiers for Senior & Junior Championships along with the PGA Assistants Championship and other National comps, so it's highly regarded as a top parkland course for the Midlands area.
When I joined I asked about the winter and that of closures and temp greens & tee's and this was answered as;
We have never had to close for anything other than snow in the past, they never move to or have temp greens other than when winter work is being carried out on the main greens, they only have a single mat in the winter on the par3 7th hole and that's because the small raised tee block can get too damaged if played over the entire winter, so, I was very satisfied with that history and joined.
They are still improving drainage every year and just before all the wet weather arrived and our season came to an end, we took up 5 greens completely and added drainage so they could be used throughout the year, not that they couldn't before but they had area's where puddles could sit with flash heavy rainfall and then took a little longer to recover in the Spring, so we have 5 temps currently because of this work and this work alone. With all the current rainfall we have had, no puddles or standing water has been seen on any of those new greens!
We have also just placed long drainage trenches this winter again just before the wet weather arrived down the side of quite a few fairways that have decent slopes and naturally draw water from the rest of the course, these new drainage trenches are still raised and we are waiting for them to settle down but already it can be seen that we have no standing water on any of those fairways anymore.
Whilst I appreciate I can be seen to be frustrated in not getting out to play golf at my course, I can also see that courses all around me like Beau Desert and many others are also closed at the same time, so were not being over precautious, but we value what we have and if that means losing a few rounds over winter to an unprecedented amount of rain to have the best course in the area for the main season, even though we have opened up the front 9 a few times, then so be it!
Aside to the course, as I joined on my own from another club I have found the friendliness of the club fantastic and have made some very quick friends and made to feel extremely welcome, nothing like the rumours that were force fed me at a previous club about it, it's a very forward thinking club with jeans & trainers now allowed in the bar but still holds on to traditional values, all-in-all it's a great mix and with younger people making their way onto committee's, the future looks excellent both on and off the course.

Whilst the comments seem in favour of club A (generally people who know one or both courses), the poll from what I can only speculate are neutrals is completely inconclusive. I think club A is definitely the one in favour at the moment.

If Kenilworth is b, I'd join there. Played both on consecutive days last year. I liked Kenilworth better.
Robin did sell Cov pretty well though.

With those choices I'd save up some cash / get a better job / win the lottery / pimp out the Mrs and move North.
Better courses, better people, gravy available with everything.

That's not open as far as I'm concerned, open is main greens, temps is akin to knocking it round a field.

Not been in your exact position but similar; two adjacent courses, left one, joined the other pretty soon after. The one I left drains relatively better although neither are bad, the one I've joined has better facilities, is friendlier and is generally regarded as the better club. If I was to choose again tomorrow I'd stay where I am.
Hope you enjoy whichever one you choose, particularly if it's A………..

So I finally made a decision. On a purely financial basis I've rejoined club B. I wanted to go for A but ultimately I wouldn't get more out of golf at A.
Without knowing the courses hard to make a decision but I'd probably go A for the quality of the course

Thats good to hear as a member of B! sounds like a forum meet up is in order as theres now 3 of us playing there, theres a fair few other local members who im sure would be up for it too when we get into the warmer weather!
