Playing well at the moment, but haven't had a lesson for about 3 months had a season end check up this morning.

Talked about how its been going for a couple of minutes then hit some 7 irons...boomed all of them.

That's good he said, then we talked about targets for next season and what needs thinking about over the winter....

Hit some more 7 irons...then the driver.... all good.

This continued. But, this was the first lesson where we talked more than I hit balls. Go time really thinking about what practical changes I need to make to play better in comps and get the handicap down. I still work full time and away from home, so practice time is scarce.

But I can away from the session with some simple goals and behaviour changes that will make a difference. Blooming obvious most of it, but sometimes you need telling!

In my case its being away working all week then tee up in Saturday medal with no warm up! (and some other stuff) But next year, get there 30-45 mins earlier and hit some balls!!

"If you always do, what you've always done,"
"You'll always get , what you always got!"

Odd...cant have hit many balls in the 40 mins.. but great session,

Anyone else have similar?

Sounds like a great lesson and not too much technically wrong or needed fixing. Some good ideas from your pro and changing your focus and thinking may help you play with more freedom and just go out and score. Hope the winter work goes well. Keep us updated

Sounds like youve had a real lesson from a pro who cares more about your game than making money truth be told.

my lessons with my previous pro were 1 hour long, spend maybe 30 mins hitting 10 mins with swing changes and 20 mins talking about my game

few times the lessons would run over by 30 mins because he would want to spend some extra time on one thing before we left. No charge
