Isn't it time we stopped all this protecting the UK / Britain? Let's let Scotland have their independence along with Wales and N.Ireland. It really gets on my nerves how they are interferring with what the English people want / vote for. Just cut them all loose and lets just sort our own problems out.

Put's on tin hat and waits.......oh and I really do think this, I'm not just winding you up.

Totally with you on that.
Best scenario is for England to leave the UK and EU.
The rUK can then cancel Brexit and enjoy the many benefits of being an EU member.

If it goes how you want and therefore you cant blame the EU or can't blame Scotland/Wales/NI for England's problems, who are you going to blame next time, not hard to guess - immigrants of course. After that, who knows, the Cornish maybe as they're Celts too?

I wonder if the union is partly a generational thing. My FiL goes white at the thought of the union breaking up. I'm not at all bothered. I think the UK is stronger with all of the countries together but if any country is unhappy then they should leave. We are not living in the past where we force our will onto nations, every nation has to be a willing partner. It is like a happy dressing room, if anyone is unhappy get them out.

I can see Scotland leaving in the near future. I don't see Wales making that choice, financially it is simply not viable for them, and as for NI I will leave that one alone.

Do you mean in an alliance acceptable to you, anyone other than the ‘biggest’ dominant party should just keep shtum and accept their fate or bog-off?

Nice

Your really not into current affairs are you. The Scots, the Welsh and the people of NI have firmly stated that we wish to remain within the Union. Check your facts on issues before you spout rubbish.

You don’t half talk some crap.

I wonder if while you're spruiking the insular line of the day that you are probably.....

Wearing a t-shirt made in India
Typing on a laptop made in Korea
Wearing shoes made in china
Have a fridge full of Italian beer
Wine rack full of Spanish rioca
Your Asda Bananas on the table from Brazil
German car perhaps?

The list goes on but "hey everybody,Sod off cos I'm fine here by myself" yeah right....🤔

In this scenario, do you think Scotland would be a nett contributor or a nett receiver?

Also, if the others have voted to stay in why then is:-

Nicola whining on about another referendum? Scotland voted to stay in the Union AND the EU. They want it all ways!!!!

The NI leader and her team, blocking every move to sort summat out, why not have a United Ireland and then they can stay in the EU, which is what they want. Surely that must outweigh all the other problems associated with making a United Ireland? Yes? Don't remember them having a vote on the Union.

Wales? Hmm,they are all over the place and really need some proper investment which they can get from the EU if they split off from the UK? Yes? Don't remember these having a vote on the Union issue either.

Cannot see why people are having a go at me. No one really cares about the Union anymore and I'm sure it would give people a sense of pride to be fully running their own country. Look at all the countries that split off from USSR to become proper countries again.

For a kick off most of them can now thrash the pants off England !

You are correct of course but the Scots are a bit annoying, they voted to stay in the UK, which I for one was very happy about. they then fill their own parliament with Nationalist MPs that spend all their times running down the hated English blaming them for all their problems. I understand why a lot of English think “well bugger off then”

I’m no Hercule Poirot (think Dixon of Dock Green but talks funny) but I’ll wager someone had spilled some nail varnish remover near your PC in the last couple of hours

I'm not SNP but that bit in bold is ridiculous and not true. How have you formed that view? Holyrood has more SNP than others but through PR have a decent balance of all parties represented. Sturgeon didn't get a majority govt last time, needs the Greens to back her up like May does with DUP.

You come across as the epitome of a little englander. With absolutely no knowledge of the big wide world.
