Spot on. This is what I did and played very little for about 5 years whilst my 2 were very young. My other half has always worked part time since the kids came along and we have never used child care. Now they're 7 and 11 things are different. For the past few years I got back into golf more and more and dropped in that time from 16 to 10.

You can still play and IMO you're doing the right thing 100%. Not just for the money but you'll be around more to help.

Sorry to hear that Alex, I hope you manage to get a few rounds over the coming few years til the wife gets back to work.

Good luck with the wee woman, I have 2 daughters and they are great fun, I also have a son, who is awesome too, could be a good few years before you get playing regular golf again if the missus gets broody! :P

Same thing's happening to me just now! After finally getting back into golf the last 2 seasons after a long break, the Mrs only went and got preggers. So after a teary heart to heart i've got to chuck it again next season. I'm just using it as an opportunity to have at least one away day a month and play all those courses on my wish list. That's pretty much what i've been doing this season anyway, hardly played my own course due to massively increased work commitments. Quite honestly, i miss competitive play, but i've played some fantastic courses and will continue to do so once junior/ess joins us

Small sacrifice in my book

Anyone who has made the commitment to have kids needs to back it up as you have mate. Hats off to you fella for the noble and right decision.

I have 2 girls myself, all too grown up for their own good now, and made similar sacrifices to yourself. Don`t regret it for a second as you wont. Spend every second you can with her as you know how special she is, and from one a few more years experienced (sounds better than older:o) that will never change.

Good luck Alex, and feel free to add me to the list offering you a game.

its simple put the baby up for adoption,,,happy days are here again

ok only joking of course ,,,when she is old enough to understand the 4 stone you have put on doing no golf exercise she my feel guilty and become your caddy :one:

Alex, lots of sympathy shown till the photo went up and then the jealousy kicked in!!

She looks great and when those eyelashes start to work ... cost of golf..forget it - it will be much worse than that. She will have you round her little finger!

Good luck to you all on the trip forward!

Hehe, the eyelashes already work along with those big blue eyes.... I am well around her little finger already!! and I love it!!!

Good luck Alex - tough call but no choice - kids have to come first. But enjoy the offers and the prospect of abusing your fuel card. If you fancy a game in Berkshire when the weather improves just let me know - assuming i can afford the fees next year!

Had the pleasure of entertaining Alex at Aylesbury Park today

What a seriously nice bloke

The weather was lovely and sunny, although a tad breezy and even though he could only play 9 holes. we both played some good stuff
He has a very interesting swing that produces the highest ball flight I have ever seen.

i played very steady for 17 points with no blobs, Alex was blowing hot and cold with 3x 3 pointers and 3 blobs for 13 points, but it was the first time he had played there so we shall let him off.

Happy to welcome you back anytime Alex

And good luck with the family

Glad to see he is cashing in his tokens. We would love to have you up in Yorkshire Alex. Use up some of that company petrol.
