Deleting emails

Trying to delete emails form conversations. I have selected 5 and then gone to filter. Please explain what I do next to delet.

You should get a pop-up bar toward the bottom of the screen that appears and gives you options with what you want to do with your selected conversations. If you don't see the pop-up, it might be because you have pop-ups disabled.

I don't have any conversations on this forum, but do on another running the same software:

Seemed to work before but when I choose an action nothing seems to happen. What is the next step please? ELI5
