I am looking for a hotel to stay in for a week in October, prior to the Goswick trip. It needs to be 4/5 star, with a decent spa, pool etc, and ideally on the coast, so I can walk along the beach (in the rain). The idea being Mrs Mog and I can stay there during the week, and I can pop up to Goswick for the Friday morning and pick her up on the way back on saturday.
She wanted to go to Cornwall, but I have vetoed that as goswick is a heck of a drive from there.
Not really got a location in mind, but am thinking north yorkshire and further north.

Any ideas?

Murph are you staying over in Goswick on the Friday night or planning to drive back to the hotel? If your not driving back to the hotel on the Friday night then have a look at Scarborough for a hotel (would be a bit too far if you were commuting). Plenty of beaches with cold North East wind for you to walk along, and will be enough shops etc to keep the Mrs amused while your golfing in Goswick for 2 days.

Hi, I was planning on spending Friday night in Berwick, so I can study the opposition (this worked well last time, I had 9 points on the front 9 in the morning, with a wicked hangover). Scarborough could be good, was looking at The Crown Spa, but it may be a bit big.
