Debbie Harry

Didn’t realise that she was in her 70s. Liked the music, joined the fan club and then went to see them live. Unfortunately, she had no charisma on stage whatsoever.

So she was quite old then (for a popstar) in Blondie's late 70s heyday - 35 in 1980. Very cool though, a style icon.
Her looks carried the Blondie brand more than anything they did musically I think, but they have a handful of fairly famous catchy pop rock tunes to their/her name that have stood the test of time ok - Atomic, Heart of Glass, Tide is High etc.

Gorgeous then, not too bad now.
The group was good, but she WAS Blondie all day long:)

TBH as much as I liked them, the stuff post Parrallel Lines was less edgey and more poppy, especially after Eat to the Beat

Always loved Blondie but Debbie Harry has come across as a real piece of work in recent years towards former band members. Spoiled the image in my mind but Atomic still ranks in my Top 10 all-time.

Saw a documentary on them a few years back Wasn't there a row when they were inducted into the hall of fame that they wouldn't let their former member join them on stage. She came across really vindictive and mean then and I think as time has gone on she's become more so. But boy, what a stunner in her pomp

Spot on. She and Chris Stein have behaved like a-holes towards the former members for years. I'll remember the great music, the clips of Clem Burke going crazy playing drums to Dreaming on ToTP but I want no part of knowing what she is like now.
