Went on our yearly golf outing on friday.

After playing carnoustie last year i couldnt wait to get another go at another open championship course.

We played a nearby course in the morning belleisle as a warm up round.

I hit the ball well but my short game let me down leaving me with 35 points.

We teed off on the ailsa at 4pm.the conditions were perfect. Very light wind and the sun was out.

I spoke to the starter and he said the rough was wild. Its the deepest its ever been.

If you hit a ball into it you are most likely not to find it. And how right was he lol.

Anyway heres a few pics i took during the round. For £99 pp on the twilight rates (after 3pm) i felt it was worth every penny!

Overall i had a fantastic day and the 3 birdies i got made up for the lost balls on the other holes lol.
Course doesnt play too long off the yellows but you do need to keep the ball on the fairway so irons off the tee are a must.

Is there a drool smiley. Looks a cracking place to play your golf if only I could find an excuse to give HID to disappear to Scotland for a while

looks fantastic choose a good day and played well lucky you!

Turnberry Ailsa is fantastic. I was fortunate enough to play it in late May. I prefer to St Andrews, everything about the place is fantastic and the £99.00 green fee is great value for an open course,.
I advise everyone to play it.
