Not sure how many have seen this. Basically in a frustrated moment he kicked some hoardings, and in turn, an official, whos leg was cut as a result.

Obviously totally unacceptable behaviour and on one hand totally right to disqualify him but the crowd had paid a lot of money to be there and had their entertainment cut in half as a result.

Think a hefty fine and a disqualification from Wimbledon would be the correct punishment. Understand the rules but as ever spectators not being considered in the decision making process IMO.

Totally wrong thing to do but that Official is ridiculous with his falling about with his trouser leg rolled up, you'd get worse cuts shaving.
Could've carried on the game if the official hadn't decided to react like Didier Drogba and have his 15 minutes of fame.

Got to disagree there birdieman, have you seen the video of the kick itself? I think that in pretty much any sport, if you kick out at an official like that then you're out of the game immediately, regardless of whether or not you meant it or what damage you caused.

he was a grade A dick and glad they DQ'd him and they should've made better play of it when explaining it to the crowd i.e. talking about sportsmanship and the integrity of the game is to be upheld at all times otherwise they end up with rules for some and rules for others farce. so if they should be unhappy with anyone it should be Nalbandian the spoilt tantrum boy.
Makes the other plays sit up and remind thmselves about their conduct.

Dont think the official who was hurt was over reacting at all

Kick on the shin is gonna hurt big time, also factor in the surprise/shock element.
As for Nalbandian himself...

They should put him in the Tower until Argentina stop crowing about the Falklands

Fragger

That's nothing.

Junior golf back in the day at Fereneze Golf Club, I'm sure Granters and inthecup will know of this incident. A certain someone (not me!) snapped a club in frustration then proceeded to throw the broken shaft in a fit of temper. The said shaft lodged itself in another juniors foot through the golf shoe into the flesh!

A bit of sawdust and he was right as rain. Not like that big baby line judge. If he was that upset about it he should have just lamped the Namb whateverhisnameis instead of pulling up his trouser leg and showing the world his wee graze. Grow a pair of baws.

i turned the tv over as that soft arse CASTLE chap was describing what had happened and was expecting a scene from SAW 5,with limbs hanging off and blood splatter ball boys etc. what we had was some pensioner falling of his deck chair and a scratch, what was the idea of the little fence around his feet in the first place, get a grip you tennis watchers the guy had a strop and kicked out end of story,or will the pensioner be on the phone to no win no fee CASTLES company as sorry is not always enough MY ARSE!!!!!!

There really is no limit to people's desire to be offended by anything. Man kicks wooden plank, wooden plank hits other man, nation collapses into bout of hand-wringing sanctimony. From hearing some reports, you'd think Nalbandian had whipped his the judge's breeks down and stuck his racket up the guy's jacksie.

Plus, the fans weren't short-changed. It's the kind of thing you're likely to see once in a lifetime, so I'd say they were lucky to be there and witness it in the flesh.

Some one probably needs to 'accidentally' kick one of your kids in the leg...... we can all laugh about it then?

You're reply is without doubt one you might reconsider.... as is mine

Tennis players in the main are like spoilt children. Towels after every point. Choosing their favourite ball and so on. Pathetic.

Of course he should be disqualified for booting a hoarding and cutting a line judge's leg. Anything less would be ridiculous.
