Cyrille Regis R.I.P.

Poignant with more allegations of racial abuse and bullying surfacing at present.

Wasn't a fan of WBA what he, Cunningham and one other ( can't recall his name) at WBA put up with was disgraceful.

Having seen Barnes and Blisset at Watford subject to verbal abuse and the throwing of bananas on to the pitch yet still carry on, is testament to the character of those early black players.

RIP one of the three degrees

Regis, Cunningham and Batson were the three players at WBA. Paved the way. A giant of centre forward, solid, a real target man.

Fondly remembered by pretty much all in football and that is a rarity.

Well said. The abuse that they had to put up with in those days, unbelievable. He and the others should be proud of what they did.

Very sad RIP Cyrille. Was a fantastic, athletic strong footballer, with great presence on the pitch.

WBA had a great side in the 70's with the 3 black lads and Peter Barnes out wide on the left and Tony Goddon in goal.

Seen him play a bit quality player.
Cant help thinking he would be laughing at some of the allegations these days after what he had to put up with.

Top Footballer.

Very sad and someone along with the likes of Anderson, Batson, Cunningham etc paved a very difficult path that allowed other coloured players to tread with increasing ease. A classic striker of his generation.
