Challenge Tour Pro
Had a very interesting custom fitting session tonight.
Decided few weeks ago that if I did ok in the Trilby Tour I'd look at a new driver. Figured after the result it was a deserved pressie to myself!
Had a session at a Callaway day a couple of months ago, and was really impressed with the Razr Hawk, so that was on the list. Also was going to give the 910 a go after positive comments on here, the R11, the Nike Pro VR and the Diablo.
Started with my current toy as a control, which showed too high a launch angle and too much spin. 210 carry.
Started with the Razr, which I thought would be the one. Tried the Alida RIP shaft and to be honest it felt ok, but not great stats. Tried the Diablo next with the same shaft which gave better carry and a bit more feel.
Then went to the 910. Loved it. Penetrating flight with good carry (226) and spin sub 2900. Then tried the project x 6 shaft and the stats improved further.
Then the Nike. Oh boy. Now I didn't want to like the Nike as I already have one and wanted a serious brand club! With the 5.5 I got a few more yards and similar spin, but with the 6 it jumped to 239 carry and spin sub 2600. we agreed it was my attack angle that was generating the excess spin.
Played the 910 and the Nike against each other again, wanting the 910 to be better, but no, the big swoosh was just longer, better dispersion and felt "right".
New Big Dog ordered!!!!!!
