Hi Guys!!

Myself and 4 others went out for our first game of the New Year on Saturday. We were playing Murrayshall in Scone, Perth. It was a little cold and windy but nothing too bad, played in worse conditions.

Anyway we set off, it began to snow and then the wind picked up whilst walking onto the 3rd green. It snowed for about 15 minutes then stopped so we thought nothing of it until we got to the 10th green. As you can see its about half inch deep which was fun to putt on!

Unfortunately we lost 1 member on the 8th - too cold for him! Thankfully as we started decending down the course the snow was thining out and we managed to complete the round. Scores weren't great but it certainly was fun!

Whats the worst conditions you have played in?

You don't realise how good you've got it up there, down here sometimes we have to play when the sun goes behind a cloud but we don't moan, we just take our sunglasses off and carry on.

Played last year in a Charity day and I have never seen so much rain - on the 10th it was raining so hard that I had my ball about 15 foot on the green and it was washed off the front again by a constant running stream of water.

We tried to play on but next hole the flag stick was sat in a pool approx half an inch deep - we gave up and walked in. Couldn't score as we couldn't get the ball in the hole:)

I had a few gloves in the bag but it was one hit per glove then it was soaked - didn't have any rain gloves at the time, I have now but not seen anything like it since and hopefully never will :)

Did play in snow many years ago, not sure I'd go that far again, but the I think the worst conditions I've played in was at Celtic Manor not long after the Ryder Cup. The ground was still ripped up, and it was raining hard with howling wind. Whilst the fairways looked nice, the ground was boggy as hell, every step my shoes were an inch under water, I remember hitting in to one green and pitching on the bank to the side....where the ball just vanished beneath the surface never to be seen again.....
