Smiffy
Grand Slam Winner
and really looking forward to it.
My mate Paul (who is a member at Bearwood Lakes) has invited me to play in the "Libby Challenge" Charity Day there tomorrow. Arrive 10.30 for registration, 11.00-12.00 exhibition of trick shots from some guy with a wobbly driver, spot of lunch and then an 18 hole Betterball Stableford competion in the afternoon.
Host of "celebrities" playing including Ray Clemence, Ossie Ardilles, Ricky Villa, Tiff Needle, some fat bloke from Dalziel & Pascoe, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Willie Thorne and a few others. Paul is defending champion from last year, where he and his partner each won a brand new set of irons (Srixon) from the pro shop, so not too much pressure on then....
Back to the hotel to change and then an evening "do" with the wives in attendance so must be on my best behaviour.
Staying over in Reading and then another game around Bearwood on Sunday with Pauls brother David (who plays quite a tasty game off of 9) to try to get the tenner back that he narrowly won a few weeks ago. The Missus is caddying for me, so I won't even have to roll my own fags!!
Weather forecast looks superb and I've got my two outfits pressed and ready, with a red shirt put aside for Sundays game.
Really looking forward to it and will make a nice change from working on Saturday and listening to two 12 year old twin boys whinging and whining on Sunday.
