The Grinder Of Pars (Semi Crocked)
Now I've got a real problem! Played at another local course with my mate Colin (CVG)(I taught him to drive!) - Aylesbury Park. Col's a 5 day member there and I played for £15 - good value because the course is pretty good. Greens are big and undulating and there's a proper 1st cut/2nd cut/cabbage to the rough. Some nice holes as well - only a par 70 but a decent track. Big plus is they've got a par 3 course that the members seem to be able to get on for nowt. Great for practice.
Anyway I shot an 82 nett 72 for 34 points and Col struggled to 26 (bad front 9) but an enjoyable round anyway especially as I had back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13!
The problem?
Well, should the Financial Director give me the green light for a membership I'm now torn between Aylesbury Park and Aylesbury Vale. Costs are the same(ish), AV is further away, AV is longer (6500 to 6100), AP has the par 3 course but no range (although there is another range closer to home), Memeber numbers are similar but AP noticably busier, AV is probably the better/tougher course.
So they've both got good bits and not so good bits - as Medway said - Its difficult!!
Playing again Monday so I might make up my mind!
