Nowt wrong with that. I always think a good cover takes the original and then manipulates it into something a little different as opposed to a straight off replica of the original

I fully agree, but that doesn't extend to taking an all-time classic and turning it into a steaming turd!

This mortal Coil was the Record wasn't it that featured lots of other artists from 4AD (have here somewhere), the song was performed by Liz Fraser and Robin Guthrie, who at the time were the only members of the CT.

To be fair I always get Tim and Jeff mixed up too.

This mortal coil were the band or the ‘collective’ though.

Liz and robin were just part of the wider group

One mans meat and all that. I don't think they made it quite that bad. I actually have more issues with a song sampling another song for no apparent reason or than to fill the gaps
