I can't believe no one has mentioned Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah!
Think I prefer this version though

To be fair, my cat could sing any song better than Dylan ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
You've posted in the wrong thread, this was obviously meant for the other one about covers that were abominations.
I'm also going to nominate Pearl Jam - Last Kiss, but then I've never even heard the original to be honest. But there's no way it can be better than Eddie's vocal. No way.
Check out Frankie Goes to Hollywood's version of Born To RunIt is in my top 10 songs.. Nothing against Springsteen as Born to Run is also in my top 10. Chris Thompson has a great voice. You may recognise his voice from War of the Worlds, Thunderchild.
I know that, in theory, everyone is entitled to an opinion. But the spreading of lies and fake news, like this, should surely be outlawedIts ok but not a patch on Leonard's original.
Eddie could pretty much sing any song and it would be better than the original.Your suspicion is correct
Good shout on Watchtower
For a PJ fan though it's tough to beat this (original by Victoria Williams I think), seen it many times in concert and makes the hair stand every time AT ~2.55. Less hair over the years, but still This version with obligatory lyric mistakes. He really should have them written down I bet Williams never imagined this song could have a 5 minute outro.
Crazy Mary
Eddie could pretty much sing any song and it would be better than the original.
Mrs Robinson by the Lemonheads.
Leaving on Jetplane by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
I want you to want me by Letters to Cleo
May get slaughtered for this, but Guns n Roses' version of Live and Let Die is far better than Wings' original.
Can't believe that this hasn't been listed already either, the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt is something else
well reminded.I can't believe no one has mentioned Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah!
To be honest I don't really like what he did with the song, but he was such an underrated guitarist.Prince @ Coachella performing Creep is pretty damned good - better than the original though?
