Hi fellow forumers

Me and a friend are taking part in the Matchplay Championship and have been given a home draw in the first round.

The letter I received suggested I ask for 'Courtesy of the course'. I have never heard of this before, given my short golfing life and being the first time I have entered the Matchplay Championship’s.

My question is how have others gone about requesting Courtesy of the course??? Is it a matter of calling in to the club and speaking to the manager or is it more appropriate to send a letter?

Any views will be greatly appreciated.

Alan

HTL and I played in the Volvo event earlier in the year and were drawn away. I contacted the course and explained that we should be allowed to play (basically courtesy of the course allows you to get on and practice) and the club refused saying it isn't club policy and that the organisers shouldn't have put that in as not every club will allow opponents to play.
