Course yardage accuracy

As above - I think it should be etiquette before all tee off that you offer rather than wait to be asked. Would be nice.

I always offer.

Curiously, the worst offending markers on my course are the 150s. Those are the ones where "visitors" rarely ask the yardage and then stuff it through the back or come up short.

Works for me! :)

The DMD argument does have a certain requirement on the player knowing their average (not Sunday best ) yardages per club. I've worked out mine and so have a good idea how far each will go but that doesn't mean to say I'll put a good swing on it and it'll got the right distance or direction.

As a handicap golfer I like the peace of mind I get from my Sky Caddy and the useful information like how far bunkers/hazards are, especially if I'm playing a new course and it gives me a indication of what club to hit subject to wind, lie, but allows me to make a quick decision and keep play going

It's a non-compliant local rule by the sounds of things. Any DMD with ability to measure slope is non-compliant regardless of the feature being switched on or off. If the local rule states that it can be used then this is a modification of the rules and must be passed by the R&A which is unlikely given the amount of guidance they have released.

Yes my mistake - website confirms if slope feature exists then non-compliant.
