Course at risk

My first club. This has been talked about everything since I first started there but last winter damaged the whole coastline quite badly. Not just golf courses but beach walks, dunes etc. There was a lot of damage caused.

They do have a plan to adapt if required so the course itself will not be lost. It will affect 2 holes, one very important one to the course but ultimately it is a first world problem isn't it?

We have hundred of metres of rock filled gabion baskets.
I suspect they wouldn't allow that now. They had a spell along the Northumberland coast of protecting certain sections of coastline but further research confirmed it was causing problems further down (this isn't new incidentally, it's been noted elsewhere). The problem moved actually becomes worse as the power builds.

Alnmouth had protection put in 30+ years ago. Now they'll allow them to renew that protection but not add more or new. I suspect that's the same for most coastlines now. Golf courses beware.

Struggling to see the OOB marker. 😖

Rubbish joking aside, how close would you go to the edge to play your chip onto the green. ☹️
There is a chicken wire fence that is the course boundary that separates the course from the cliff edge. If you zoom in you can just make it out to the left of the green. Stroke index 1 that hole too.

Not sure about that.
Measures to prevent erosion from the sea should not be an issues for other places along the coast.
Not the case with flood defences on rivers.
