Sorry, cant find the answers anywhere on evilbay.

I've sold a few odds and ends recently, the ones that are all paid for and I've dispatched, received positive feedback and left similar all have a button beside them saying 'second chance offer'???

Also I sold a club 2 days ago (just over 48rs ago) send buyer an invoice and so far I've heard nothing and he's not paid, what are my options? ie can I offer to the next highest bidder or is there a time limit I must wait? can he get negative feedback for wasting my time or does he get away with it?

Lastly- I had an item which had bids up to £220, with 5 mins to go a guy bids £230 which then shows the highest bidders max bid of £225. The 'new' bidder then retracts his bid saying wrong figure, yet I dont get the chance to report it or not accept the retraction as ebay bids are final arent they? you get 2 clicks and a warning before making the bid.

strikes me as a way to find out someones max bid and no comeback?

The second chance button is incase you have 2 or maybe even more and want to
Offer unsuccessful bidders the chance to buy at the bid they made, if not interested or don't have just ignore.

Think there is a 7 day period before you can report non payment dispute with eBay. As a seller you can't leave negative feedback these days only recourse is the non payment dispute and eBay policy is 3 strikes and your out. They will refund you your final value fees

Nothing you can do about the bus retraction just a ruse

Not an expert but I suggest that you cannot offer it to someone else yet, the person might be on holiday, sick or whatever.

Leave it a couple more days (it might be that he uses a computer at work?) then contact Ebay resolution centre for advice.

On the other point, raise it with Ebay resolution centre. The person might have a track record or if not you can help make sure that he starts one!

I don't believe that's the case. I believe it's for exactly the situation that the other issue is about - a non-paying winner.

Unless you specify when a payment should be made, the Ebay would require a 'reasonable' period - at least over the weekend normally. Still worth taking up with resolution centre that is pretty automated about such issues. I also wouldn't risk 100% feedback over a delayed payment.

That bid retraction looks very dodgy!

but as they all paid immediately, received goods, feedback left etc then why is it offering second chance?

is there no defined period for payment, surely cant be as vague as 'reasonable period'? as that is different for everyman

but they can sit there making bids in the last 5 minutes to 'win'.........then what, suddenly take ill or get whisked off on a romantic surprise holiday?

When I win I pay within minutes, who doesn't? except lazy arrogant selfish people:angry:

There's a "require immediate payment" option for Buy it Now items but not for auctions. Nothing to stop you asking for payment within 24 hours though.

I have had this late payment issues, so I looked at the Ebay terms and you can open a case for no-payment one 48 hours has expired, I have been asking buyers to pay within this time frame, works for me

Having done some digging - looked up 2nd chance in Ebay hepl - it actually covers BOTH these cases!
The '2nd chance available' will appear immediately either payment is made (covering the multiple items) or as soon as the Purchase is cancelled through the resolution centre (covering the payment failure).
