Can anyone recommend courses on the Marbella, Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Torremolenos stretch of coast. Anything fairly flat and open in decent nick and not too expensive (50€ max) would be ideal. Looking for holiday golf not a challenging championship course as Mrs Fylde is playing as well as my mate and his other half.

Also, anyone got any advice on how to book? Is it worth waiting until we get there and looking to pick up lower prices etc or is there a danger everything will be booked up? Will be going last week of May.

Last time I went I used a firm called Course Master Golf Holidays http://www.golfholidaysonline.com

We found them not too bad and they would try get buggies included in the price where they could. I don't know what they are like now?

There are 3 top courses at La Cala you won't go wrong playing, I also enjoyed Santana and Almenara. There were others I'd happily go back to in a flash but they top my list.

If you want holiday golf where you won't loose lots of balls, go to Mijas Los Olivos and Los Lagos. Both 18 hole courses have wide open fairways, not heavy rough, but at the same time are very challenging where you must keep to the golfing line. They are always in tip-top condition, the electric buggies are excellent (if you use them) and the cafe/restaurant serves good food. Mijas is easy to get to, good car parking and good practise putting and driving range areas. I love it there. Don't know how much it cost though. Try booking through one of the Spanish based companies that advertise on the web. Don't go to Monte Major or any of those mountain courses where you will be relieved of all your ball stock in the firt round.

Good luck.

Thanks guys, any more suggestions welcome but that's given me a few to investigate. I know what you mean about some courses. Played Los Arqueros the other side of Marbella and the great man may have designed it but I'd like to see Seve break 80 round there even when he was at his best !!

Cheers.

While I agree that Torrequabrada is a fine course (and excellent club house too). It fails two criteria stated. It is certainly not flat and i doubt if you can play it this time of year for under 50 euros
