Just spent a week based at L'Escala playing PGA Catalunya Stadium and Tour, Emporda Forest and Links, Torremirona and Peralada. The first four are oustanding , beautiful and have strikingly spectacular holes, challenging and in excellent condition. The last two resemble the sort of parkland courses we come across often. Wouldn't play Torremirona again as the bunkers, in the main, only contained a very shallow layer of not very fine grit. The service we received from all the staff couldn't have been more professional or welcoming. L'Escala proved to be an excellent base with an apartment on the seafront and just 5 minutes' walk from the old town with good bars and restaurants. Have played some great courses elsewhere in Spain - eg Las Colinas and Infinitum but those first four courses come out on top. Would recommend.
